Meg Strickler is one of the nation's leading attorneys on internet crime and technology law. She counsels clients on complex information privacy and security issues, theft of intellectual property, computer intrusions and online fraud. She is a preeminent trial lawyer who represents individuals and corporations, financial institutions and professional firms in criminal investigations, including SEC and tax proceedings. She also conducts extensive internal investigations for corporations and privately held businesses. In addition, she represents individuals facing tax, health care, government contracting, insider trading and bank fraud investigations. She has given lectures around the globe on topics such as intellectual property offenses, computer hacking crimes, and wire fraud. In 2017, Ms. Strickler was formally appointed to the IBA Cyber Security Task Force. In 2014, she gave lectures on cyber crime in Bangalore, Brussels, Istanbul, Tokyo and Paris. In 2015, she was appointed to chair conferences on international criminal issues in Berlin, Germany and Lagos, Nigeria. She also gave lectures on global rape laws, data breaches and cyber attacks on law firms, and recent trends in cyber security from the U.S. perspective while at the IBA Annual Conference in Vienna, Austria in 2015. In 2016, Ms. Strickler once again gave speeches on cyber crime but also on issues of professionalism for the IBA and iTechlaw in Miami and Washington, DC. In 2018, Meg will be presenting at the IBA Annual Conference in Rome as part of the IBA Cyber Security Task Force. In 2017, Meg moderated a iTechlaw webinar, "Cyber Crime and Insider Threats". She also gave several presentations on cyber security at the IBA Annual Conference in Sydney. She also spoke at the ABA Section on International Law Fall Meeting in Miami and the State of Georgia Bar Association 29th Annual North American Law Summit in Jamaica in November, 2017. Ms. Strickler, along with the "Legal Dream Team", recently won an Emmy award for their coverage of the "Hot Car Death" trial coverage. Most of the "Legal Dream Team" were in Jamaica presenting a phenomenal panel on being legal analysts and Emmy award winners. Through the years, Meg has also chaired and lectured on a variety of transnational and international legal panels at legal seminars around the world concerning criminal law, anti-corruption, business crime, human rights, and international criminal law. She was just elected to be the co-chair of the Cyber Crime Committee for iTechlaw. She is also the former co-chair of the International Bar Association Criminal Law Committee and is now the Corporate Liaison Officer of the IBA War Crimes Committee and co-chair of the IBA Cyber Crime sub committee. She is also the current ABA Section on International Law Liaison to the ABA Criminal Justice Section and the International Criminal Court Bar Association and serves on the Steering Group for the ABA International Anti Corruption Committee. Meg is also very active in the Women's White Collar Defense Association. Meg has been practicing law since 1997, and is licensed to practice in Georgia, New York and California. She has clients from all over the world. She was named one of the Top 100 Trial Lawyers by the National Trial Lawyers for 2014. In 2013, Time Magazine named Meg a "Leader in Criminal Defense". In 2011, Newsweek Magazine named Meg as one of America's top criminal defense lawyers, and Atlanta Magazine has named Meg a Rising Star Superlawyer. Meg is a graduate of Emory University's School of Law, where she was recognized by the Dean of Students for her outstanding academic record. During her third year of law school, Meg joined forces with Attorney Dan Conaway, and together they formed Conaway & Strickler, P.C. where Meg has spent her entire legal career practicing criminal law as a prominent and successful federal and international criminal defense lawyer.
