Biography

Ed grew up in Bangor, Maine, and graduated from Bangor High School. He later graduated from the University of Maine, Orono, and after working for BRS/Nike at what was then their U.S. Manufacturing Headquarters, In Saco, Maine, he started law school, graduating from the University of Maine School of Law in 1984. In 1984, Ed began practicing with a small, general practice law firm in Waterville, Maine. In early 1987, Ed joined the Cumberland County D.A.’s Office as an Assistant D.A. Within two months, he was invited to move from the Portland District Court to Cumberland County Superior Court, where he was soon racking up jury trials galore- sometimes 5 or 6 a month- handling cases ranging from misdemeanors, to sex offenses, to armed robberies, to attempted murders.
